A Beautiful Re-fit for our York Store

It's been an exciting month for the team in Azendi York, as we unveiled our new look after a beautiful re-fit.

The York store has been open since 2016 on Low Petergate, occupying the ground floor of a Grade II listed property. The view up Low Petergate, with the prominent frontage of Azendi and the Minster rising behind, is often credited as one of the most photographed views in York.

Having been open in this location for over 7 years, we have become an established addition to the wealth of independent retailers in the city. We decided that it was time for us to upgrade the displays and freshen up the look of the shop in order to bring the design of this store into line with that of our other Yorkshire stores.

Colours, Lights and Cabinets!

We closed temporarily for a ten day refurbishment at the end of April for our dramatic transformation.

It is important to us that the store feels inviting and friendly, as well as creating a display space that is easy to browse. So our new-look store was weeks in the planning, before an intense few days filled with builders, shopfitters and decorators.

The shop layout was designed and fitted to our specifications by specialist jewellery cabinet-makers, IWM Designs to make the most of the space in store.

We chose honey-toned oak for the cabinets to create warmth in store, sitting beautifully with our blue colour scheme (gorgeous paints from Farrow & Ball).

One of the most important aspects of a jewellery store is the lighting so we have made sure that each cabinet is well-lit with bright, daylight LED lights, allowing the finest detail on the jewellery to be clearly seen.

The store now boasts bright new window displays, bespoke cabinets and a fresh new look.

We are absolutely delighted with the refurbishment, and we are sure that the York store will continue to thrive. We'd love to see you at the York store - come and tell us what you think!
