December Birthday

The birthday flower for December is Narcissus

The Narcissus flower symbolises respect, modesty and faithfulness. Strangely enough it is also sometimes linked to the Greek myth of Narcissus, who became so obsessed with his reflection that he gazed into a pool of water for so long that he fell in and drowned. A narcissus is said to have grown where he died. Either way, this beautiful flower is one of the most popular flowers in the world.

The birth stone for December is Turquoise

Wearing Turquoise is said to protect against evil influence and negative emotions. The Apache and Aztec tribes would trade using Turquoise and used it as a method of healing illness. In Ancient Egypt, Turquoise was associated with Hathor, the Goddess of motherhood, dance and music. It was often used in tombs to protect the dead on their journey to the afterlife.
